Ashley Javier’s unconventional approach and absolute dedication to hairstyling have made him one of the most sought after professionals in the industry today. His intuitive sense of trends and ability to execute styles has brought him collaborations with a variety of photographers, such as Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, Patrick Demarchelier, Glen Luchford, Jean-Baptiste Mondino and Ryan McGinley; and designers such as Giles Deacon, Behnaz Sarafpour and threeasFOUR.
Having lived on three continents before the age of ten, Javier has been influenced by a wide range of cultures. He studied at Vidal Sassoon and Framesi Italia, then honed his skills and developed a distinct style during a subsequent nine-years of apprenticeship that took him around the world.
In 2003 Javier established his exclusive salon, Ashley Javier Parlor, a private, invitation only atelier where his distinguished clientele are given the individual attention that is a trademark of his work. As Plum Sykes noted in her 2007 Vogue article "At The Parlor," clients come for the “cut, color and the witticisms only Ashley can deliver.”
Early in his career, Javier was sought out by L’Oreal to be a creative consultant for Kérastase, and acted as the brand’s spokesperson until 2010. Javiers’ styles have appeared in magazines including Vogue, W, Allure, Harper’s Bazaar, V Magazine, T Magazine and Love. His distinct aesthetic has made him a natural choice for such fashionable celebrities as Penelope Cruz, Angelina Jolie, Chloë Sevigny, Emma Roberts and Zoe Kravitz.
