Born in China, raised in the Netherlands and currently based in London, makeup artist Chiao Li Hsu is distinguished by her skilled approach to fantasy and surrealism. Her exquisite application reflects a mastery of her craft and a confident, otherworldly vision that defies traditional expectations of beauty.

Hsu’s work has resulted in ongoing collaborations with photographer Rafael Pavarotti and stylist Ibrahim Kamara, in addition to projects with photographer Tim Walker and stylists including Kate Phelan and Benjamin Bruno. Hsu’s commercial clients include Prada, Balmain, Loewe, Byredo, Marc Jacobs and H&M. She is a contributor to the British, American, French and Italian editions of Vogue, as well as Dazed, Revue, W, Numéro, Re-Edition, and Beauty Papers.
